You know you do search and rescue when . ..
I know I don't usually post without having pictures to update, but I think this is post worthy. I have had a few instances in the past, that can really only be explained by saying "you know you do search and rescue when. . ." Now I feel that for the sake of posterity that I will post them here on cheesygrits, so I can remember them forever, and you all can learn a bit about what search and rescue it about.
You know you do search and rescue when. . .
1. You find yourself perfectly sober in a bar bathroom on a Friday evening stripped down to your underwear and pulling ticks off you and your clothes and flushing them down the toilet. (Seriously I think I pulled off 15-20 that day)
2. You open up your dryer at the laundromat, and the first items to fall out onto the floor are several pairs of rubber gloves. (Now you might say I should have emptied out my pockets before washing my rescue pants, but considering the amount of poison oak I have as a result of when those pants were last worn I wasn't touching them again. They went straight from a trash bag into the washer, not to be touched by my hands until they were washed.)
Don't worry I'll keep adding as the list grows.

aluminum man & zion
Look at me, I'm back in the habit of updating within days and not months! A little over a week ago I partipated in my first ever half iron-distance triathlon. It was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Please check out the
photos.Also, I can't seem to get enough of Zion this summer. This time I went with big group, combining friends from high school, college, grad school, and other outdoorsy friends I've picked up along the way. I only took a few photos in Zion since I was busy trying to stay found and keep things on track, and I've tacked these on to the end of my previous Zion album.
